I was inspired by Juan Miro’s prints based on Henry Gust’s invention using silicon carbide powders in different gauges. These are dusted on a zinc plate that has been painted with glue which adheres the silicon dust. After drying, the plate is inked and the negative spaces are cleaned. I then print the plate in an etching press.
